havin a bit of trouble with the cooling system on a 1999 v40 1.8.
a couple of minutes after starting the temp gauge show very hight (in the red), and cooling fan is running on high speed yet the coolant in the system or radiator is only starting to heat very slightly. temp gauge would flucuate between mid and high position occasionally.
im think a sensor issue but am unsure ?
the cars only new to me and im even unsure where to locate the temp sensor.
any pointers would be a help

was found to be temp sensor @ the thermastat housing.
