Hello All,
2008 Volvo V70 D5 - The ABS and ASR lights come on with ignition and do not go off when engine is running.
A local autolec has looked into this and found that it is not an ABS sensor replacement and the ABS and the ASR are linked to a common problem.
He has spoken to Volvo on my behalf - they state it needs a new 'ABS Relay Sensor', which only they can do and costs $$$.
Does anyone know if the relay sensor is part of the ABS control module or what it is?
I would hate to part with my hard earned cash and find that by simply plugging in a new module will resolve the issue.
Thanks in advance,
Graham.

Did your Tech pull the codes? Before you decide to spend some dough on parts, please get the codes pulled first- here in US we've got places like Autozone that would do that for free. One may find an indie that is equipped to read the volvo proprietary codes for less $$$.
A Volvo stealership here charges about $90 just to pull the codes, but that will give you almost all you need to pinpoint the problem. The other route is 'throwing parts at her' but we try to avoid that.
Cheers

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

The auto parts stores do not have a reader that does the whole car, it is an OBD-II or fuel system reader.
The codes will have to be read by a shop or someoen with VIDA or Autologic.
