Ok folks. I have tried scotty kilmers lacquer thinner method for cleaning out bad cat code. Although a small improvement my wife's v70 is still throwing the p0420 code. My s40 had the same code but I opted to try cataclean sold by pepboys. Followed directions perfectly and the code is gone and the car takes off like a turbo should. Great performance increase. No codes! This stuff not only works but improves performance as well. It says to repeat two to three times a year depending on how much mileage you accrue. I definitely will be doing this again.
