transmission problems?

Post by kasey »

I have a 1999 S70 2wd with engine PCM coeds 0020 and 0050, What's happening is that the car feels like the torque converter is locked in. I have tried to locate the transmission speed sensor, from my understanding it is part of the ABS system, yet when I look on line for parts they are showing an engine speed sensor and a vehicle speed sensor. The car can be manually shifted up but it will not shift down correctly.

I just bought this car 7 weeks ago and it was fine until 2 weeks ago. I have no ABS, ETS, or CEL on, they do work because they light up when the key is turned on. I know 1st code is for trans.speed sensor output speed faulty signal and the other is lock up solenoid stuck in on position. Where is the trans.speed sensor, possibly a picture showing the location would be very helpful?

I love the car but I can't really sink a lot of money in this.

The RPM sensor reads the engine speed at the flex plate. It is located at the 12:00 position at the very back of the engine block. The other speed sensor is located, more or less, at the 11:00 position just above the PNP switch. The shift cable terminates on the PNP switch so that should be a good reference.

The P codes you posted have nothing at all to do with the transmission though. Where did you get them read?

these are tcm codes,my brother had a code reader that can retrieve them,do you have a picture of these locations,i found 1 sensor that was mounted at the rear of the transmission under the air box.i believe this is for the speedometer,it was wired into a gang plug near the pnp switch.i looked all over the top side of this transmission could it be hidden by the large wiring harness that runs acrros the bellhousing area close to the back of the engine?any help would be appreciated.
