OK update...... While working on the PCV and the ABS controller, I removed and serviced the PNP switch. I had to re-shape one of the contacts as it was quite a bit off square.
No change in symptoms yet, still a delayed and or VERY harsh 1-2 shift when cold (much more delayed than the normal delay when cold). Runs like a champ when warmed up.
Now to be completely fair, I think the fluid level might be a bit high since I did the flush so I will get that corrected before I go any further.

Any update? I've been having identical symptoms except that I also have no OD. I'm leaning on solenoids too. I just need the time and a proper tool to scan for Volvo transmission codes.

Hmm. Well I guess the car knows I bought the solenoids, its magically started to behave "better" this week. Not perfect but better when cold.
I did a drain and fill a couple of weeks ago and the fluid was a bit dirty, what's interesting is that I did a fluid exchange a couple of months ago but I honestly can't remember if I drained from the plug or not when I did the exchange. Assuming I didnt pull the drain plug when I did the exchange (would be a silly mistake but possible) maybe there was some sediment in the fluid that didn't get taken out when I did it and it was clogging things up... Will do another drain and fill during the week and see how things look. I still have plenty of fresh fluid left from the 5.5gal drum I bought!
