1994 3ltr 960 24v Lambda sensor replaced
As my recent cries for help will show my Lambda sensor light came on and so i decided to renew the sensor. After purchasing the correct part from a reputable dealer (£65) and fitting it myself according to the manufactures instructions found that the Lambda warning light was still illuminated. Have i missed something, should the warning lamp fix itself or do i have to manually remove any fault codes that may be still there. Any help will much appreciated.

Sorry saw your username and couldn't resist. What was the exact code you were getting beforehand?

Thats ok my friend, just happy Ted is still recognised. I have to admit i know very little about fault codes and even less about how to read them. I just assumed by replacing the sensor with a new one it may clear the warning light. Apparently not. One thing i did not do was to remove the battery terminal before installing and maybe this may have cleared the fault. Perhaps i need to read up on this aspect of repair before i do some real damage! Thanks for your concern.

You do have to erase the code. This is done using the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) unit in the engine compartment. Instructions for its use are pinned at the top of this forum.
