Greetings,
Just signed up and looking forward to some 740 help and discussions. I'll keep this along the audio topic as we have been doing numerous other rehabs to my daughters car and now it's stereo time. We have the base 740 non turbo and I would like to know if there is a "preferred" choice of radio that fits best with minimal altercations. Current radio is the original am/fm cassette, speakers in dash and rear deck with power antenna. She wants to install an am/fm, cd and ipod ready unit.
I'm looking at replacing all speakers and even toying with door speakers as well. Brother gave her a sub cabinet that may go in trunk as there is enough room for a Marshall short stack! Thanks

Anything single DIN should slide in just fine. You should be able to find a wiring harness, but will have to splice the wires together still. I replaced speakers in my 91 940 SE, they are typically 5.25" in the door, but you will have to do a little cutting to get after markets to fit in the front doors, the magnet typically ends up being just slightly bigger than the current hole.
