I will assess it again tonight.cn90 wrote:xHeart, not to change subject, but in your other posts, your subframe bushings at 120K look fine to me.
I see no need to replace your subframe bushings.
What appears to be a 1/2" gap between the bushing and bracket mount. The gap gradually widens when subframe is rested on jack stand, while I begin lowering the Volvo jack from the lift bracket below the door/frame. It is greater at driver's side rear subframe.
I will take better photos for comments before starting any work.
Stay tuned...

After brief pause...
A safety drill before actually doing the work.
Used the 2.5T floor-jack from the front to raise the car, and then placed the two jack-stands under the subframe near the control arm on each side. Taking a closer look at the subframe busing during this safety drill. Below is a photo of frame surface area next to the mount plate.
Is this the safe location to place the jack-stand on each side before working with replacing the rear and front subframe bushing? Adding new rear subframe bushing photos for your comments in my "Is this collapsed..." viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51781.

The frame surface looks beat up and missing the round rubber cup, it is visible in the driver side photo above.
Do I need to place the round rubber first?
Would it improve safety?

I have been using volvo jack at the jack rail located under the door to raise, then i would place a jack stand under the subframe to work.
Often asking myself "How will I prepare for this task".
Recent needs to replace suspension parts, axle boots, and general upkeep of items connected to subframe, I am starting to practice safety. Raising car, supporting subframe, accessing work area, relocating jack stand, and reading and applying MVS DIYers methods. Replacing with quality parts, acquiring right tools, and wait if not certain.
Photo below was taken while assessing wear on subframe bushing, and ways to safely reach and work with components for replacing subframe bushing.
Always looking to improve, please comment.
