She was a decent car wrencher herself. We worked together to get her first car running after it was parked in the Phoenix sun for several years. Every chance we had we would suit up in our grubbies and work on the car and she wasn't at all bashful about getting her hands dirty and working with me.pikngrn wrote:I believe your daughter should get a MVS contributor tag for that!
It's a real shame that these babies don't go up in value like guitars do because they sure seem vintage and worthy of respect for craftsmanship until something like that breaks. Then they can leave you singin the blues.
It took us a while, most of that tracking down parts, but she had a really decent first car for the all important first day of high school.
She is (still) sub 5 feet tall and it was real tough for her to see over the hood on the Porsche so we sold it and bought her the S70. She also got tired of people running into her car in the parking lot since they couldn't see it either just looking out of their rear view mirror.
I was a bit surprised that she let this get as bad as it was, she is normally pretty quick to tell me when something is wrong with her car. She is going through nursing school and I think (hope) that she has her mind on studying rather than on the car.
