The problem with my local stealer is that there is not another dealer within 150 miles.

11.50 is a steal, I am a wee bit concerned about sending a copy of my id....... I do have a University id with my name and Krusty the Clown's photo on it though

Would you want to own a car that dealers or locksmiths would let anyone who asks and has a vin have a key?

Get the $11.59 key ordered and buy Lifelock with the savings in case they steal your identity.

i don't know about the prices there but i got quoted £140 a new key to my C70 at the begining of this year.. by this company www.autokeysquad.com that should be around $221 and seems like you guys there got cheaper prices... i made a lot of calls for these and they were the cheapest but also i needed to drive my car asap so they were the only one who were able to come to me that time.

The parts department at the Kansas dealer that had that eBay ad is still offering Volvo cut keys at a VERY fair price. They are Overland Park Volvo. You need to email John proof of ownership that shows your name and VIN (like a photo of the title) and a copy of your ID and then you can pay by credit card. John Janes is the Internet Parts manager who you can contact at [email protected] or 816-501-2888.

Cost for a pre 1999 key (non-chipped) is 13.00 (cut based on your VIN). Cost for chip key for 1999 and later is $30. You would still have to find a local dealer or Indy with Vadis to program it for you.

I was excited till I remembered that I swapped all the locks on my V70 from a wreck- so I don't have a vin for it-
