How do you change the compressor belt on a 1982 Volvo DL?
I see three screws that attach the compressor to a base plate facing the engine. I assume you loosen these 3 screws. Is this the right way to go?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
You didn't have to wait that long!!!
A/C belt tension is adjusted by installing or removing shims fitted between the two halves of the crankshaft pulley.
The correct procedure for changing the A/C belt is to remove the outer section of the outer pulley on the crankshaft by removing the (6) 6mm fasteners usually 4 bolts and 2 nuts.
