Brakes/fluid

Post by Beeker11 »

I replaced the rotors and pads on my xc90. After compressing the cylinder on the drivers side I noticed some brake fluid dripping on the floor. The brake fluid reservoir is full, brakes seem to be working okay, just a slight rapid pulse when extra pressure applied to brakes, like when driving down a hill. Where could the leak be from? What am I missing?

Silly question but was your fluid reservoir too full to compress the cylinder?

Have someone get in and really mash the pedal with the engine running and trans in Park. If it's leaking you'll find out soon enough this way. Inspect the brake discs every time you drive for contamination with fluid at least for the first 500 miles. You don't want to be taking risks with brakes.
