I used the Inner Tie Rod tool, but it only worked for the passenger side since I have a bump stop on the Driver's side and the crow foot would not lock on properly., So I used my trusty Vice Grips for the DS inner tie rod end and other various things to get the job done faster. But overall this job is pretty straightforward. It took me only 3 hours and some sweat equity, but I saved $$ on parts and $$$$ on labor by ordering the parts online and doing the work myself. Just make sure you put safety first and have at least 2-3 hours on the weekend so you don't rush it. Also, use youtube as a resource if you need a tip....So here we go...I sprayed everything down with brakekleen first to make the job less filthy and so I could see what I was doing.
BE SURE TO COUNT THE ROTATIONS OF THE TIE RODS WHEN YOU R&R SO THE ALIGNMENT WILL BE CLOSER.
Saftey first. jack stands. floor jack. plenty of light. I started with my Vice Grips because my 19mm socket and 3/4 socket would not do the job.. DS tie rod off about to take out LS inner tie rod. DS inner tie rod without the boot DS tie rod out and notice put in the LS sway bar link while I was in there. This bump stop was a bitch to work around. I had to use my Vice Grips to get this side off. but you have to keep that thing when you reinstall the new inner tie rod. Measured the old with the new PS tie rod out. time for the inner tie rod PS inner tie rod out. Sway bar links in on both sides. super easy Break in between repairs DS complete with Blue threadlocker on the inner tie rod and zipties on the boots PS complete with Blue threadlocker on the inner tie rod and zipties on the boots
Put wheels back on and Off to get an alignment!!
**** Make sure you Double-Triple check your work before you head out for a test drive. GOOD LUCK!
