a good OEM website

Post by jackp »

I just got my first car... A 96' 850 turbo black w/ tan leather. I really dont need to get all performance upgrades just want to restore, and fix the original parts. Ive found that the torque rod bushing is dry rotted. There is also the tube that runs from the top of the radiator to the ecu box is broken where the flexable tubing is, I dont know what this is called but that needs to be replaced also. ohh one more thing the tailpipe extension is a little rusted and everywhere I look I cant find the square pipe like what is on the car. Basically I was looking for a good website that had the parts that came on the car.
thanks everyone

jack

Try www.fcpgroton.com
They're actually a volvo dealer too, so if you don't find what you're looking for, give them a call. In regards to the tube you mention that 's deteriorated (from the ECU box to the radiator), if it's not too far gone, just wrap electrician's tape around it several times. You really do need that piece to be together.

Don't speak too soon about the performance upgrades you don't want. I think you will be suprised at your 850's performance once you get all the maintenance issues updated, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fluids, any cracked hoses, etc. All it takes is that first time you have a friendly test of acceleration with a ricer, under controlled conditions of course, for the bug to bite. Well, a K&N will give a couple horses, then maybe a cat back system, then a downpipe, an ECU upgrade. Before you know it, you're living your life 1 quater mile at a time, in a brick. We need someone to be on PINKS!

If that tube is on the passenger side of the car then its the air to cool off the ECU..note there is also a filter in there to keep fragments or dirt into the system.

I order a lot of parts from http://partsgeek.com, they seem to be cheaper than all other places I 've looked at. They also have free shipping on orders over $50

ok so I ordered a new torque rod bushing and a tailpipie extension from fcpgroton.com. On there website it says the tailpipe extension is made by boasal, I checked the bosal site and they do make the OEM black tialpipe extension. I got the stuff two days later and was happy about that, but the tailpipe is oval, brushed aluminum and made by starla. thats not what I ordered, I sent an email to see what the problem was but im not to inpressed.

Sometimes things do get messed up between order entry and order filling. I'm not defending them as I have no monies to gain nor any affiliation with them, but I do use them all the time.

Forget email, call them and they will take care of it. They are good like that.
Request they send you a prepaid shipping label to return the wrong part and ship the correct piece secured by your cc.
