1999 VOLVO S80 Airbags
I left the car running and shut the door real hard. The driver's side curtain airbag went off along with the driver's seat airbag. Then I turned the car off and the car never started back up again. It's only cranking but not firing. What do I need to replace to get the car working again? Does the car a reset button like some Ford models do?
When the collision protection system has been activated a collision signal is transmitted from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) (4/9) to the central electronic module (CEM) (4/56) and carphone module (PHM) (16/60) on a directly connected cable. These two control modules ensure that;
The central locking system is unlocked,
>>>>>>the fuel pump (FP) is switched off,<<<<<<
the interior lighting is lit,
the warning lamps are lit,
So there is no mechanical switch. But the fuel pump is shut off by a programming protocol. I have never been in this situation because I didn't work in the body shop. But I imagine a battery reset has a solid chance of correcting this. Remove key. Then after 5 min remove battery negative and then positive. Hold The cable ends together for 15 min. Reassemble and try to start.
