Newbie here, forgive any protocols missed.
can anyone help me out here, my 2001 s40 factory fit lpg system is switching to petrol after 4 or 5 minutes, if I turn off lpg and then back on again via the switch it will go back to petrol in a second or 2, if I switch the ignition off and restart it will run on lpg for 4 -5 minutes before going back to petrol, it is always the same amount of time, 4-5 minutes, never deviates.
I can confirm the tank solenoid and front one near the evaporator are switching and working??????
Scratching my head here, please help.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
My only dealings with LPG systems have been conversions but I believe the working principles are the same. When we had our son's motorhome converted we were advised to have the gas system serviced annually by an experienced fitter. I later bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee ready converted and was again advised to have the system serviced annually. The advice about my son's system was taken with a pinch of salt as the company doing the conversion would make money on the service. The advice given by the dealer who sold me the Jeep was impartial as he did not do LPG services.
A good fitter, armed with the correct equipment, can pinpoint many minor faults and, of course, some major faults very quickly.
The solenoids may appear to work but are they switching back due to a fault you can't detect? A diagnostic computer for the LPG system will find it in no time.
Bill.
