1990 760 Turbo will not start

Post by ldou0110 »

Don,t seem to be getting fuel. Replaced inline pump and filter a few months ago. Set for a month or so move to garage to work on brakes. Tried to start was not getting fuel. Replaced in tank pump still not getting fuel. Tank pump runs.Separated line before inline pump no fuel, with tank pump running. Anybody have any ideas?

If the in-tank pump is running all the time with no fuel coming through I would suspect either no, or insufficient, fuel or the pump has detached from the sender unit and isn't in the fuel. The other thing that comes to mind is the pipe from the in-tank pump is nipped or obstructed.

What Bill saidx2. You may have to remove the fuel tank and then remove pump and have a good look!

Sorry just looked at your last post, Most likely a blockage in fuel filter or a crimped line as Bill suggested.
Keep removing sections of fuel line and blow them out with air If you have a fuel filter you can try and run fuel through it backwards to clear it or replace it. If the pump pushes fuel it has to be a block somewhere.

Thanks for the help guys. Think I have that problem solved. Seems I switched the lines in the process of changing the pump out. Really feel like an idiot HA.
Now back to original problem. No brakes pedal goes all the way down. I've pumped till I'm blue in the face and get fluid to all but the front left wheel. Do you think it is the master cylinder or the ABS pump?
