Heat question, and windshield fog question

Post by rmorse »

Hey guys,

So, I have a 96 855R that is FINALLY at a solid stage 0+. I'm working on a bunch of minor issues, that are quickly becoming large issues now that winter's approaching.

The first is the heat. So, I have fantastic heat, as long as I don't F with it. I have new radiator, lines, heater core, etc. The heat works fantastic, when I leave it on full heat for a long time. You get HOT air blown in your face, even at 20 degree weather. However, the problem comes when you try to change it.

My buddy and I went to the gym together two days ago (no homo), and when we got out, we were both super hot and sweaty. So, I turned both knobs (no homo) from full heat to full cold, and turned on A/C. All was good. Then, the next morning, swapped it back to full heat with a/c off. Now is when the issues start. I only have heat coming out of the far left vents. The other vents blow cold, no matter how warm the engine is. What's up?

Issue number two is fog/glare in the morning. It's HORRIBLE. What is the best thing to do to clear it up? There's a haze on both the outside and the inside of the windshield, most likely from the heater core blowing. I've windex'd it, but no dice.

The humidity can be cleared by using a/c & heater at the same time ( which de-humidifies the air being outputted)

If it can't clear the fog it's likely the a/c needs regassing and/or the flaps to direct the air to the windscreen aren't working. From your description the vent system has stuck flaps which will require checking of the flap motors.
