All T6, MY2003 to 2005. However, the 2.5T is the best engine, and the best engine-transmission interface on the XC90, which was in MY2003 to 2006. If you see a 2.5T for 2003 to 2006, it's a buy. (Assuming the seller can prove he's taken care of it.)
Thanks, that is what I wanted. To be honest I figured we would be looking for a 2.5 and I believe I asked in another post how happy 2.5 owners were with the power...I know the engine to well to not get one. At the same time I figured not ALL T6 have to be ticking time bombs. Our sister in law had a (I believe) a 2006 but unsure at the time if hers was questionable.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

The 3.2 NA engine (from MY2007) seems to be doing ok too (along with it's transmission), but some owners report higher than normal oil burn. And some V8 owners are reporting transmission problems after 100,000 miles--but it's probably a tiny percentage--nothing like the T6. The 2.5T comes from the tried-and-true Volvo 5 cyl line, and transmission problems with this version are almost unheard of.
I guess I never thought of this but...
Does the 2.5T have the same tranny as the V/XC70...I forget what it's call, something like AW55? I believe it's about the same haldex unit so I cannot image it needs to be much more robust a trans just due to the extra weight of an XC90.

It's my understanding that the 2.5T XC70s have the same tranny as the 2.5T AWD XC90s. The weight difference (curb weight) between the two models is about 900 lbs. I don't know if that's significant for the transmission or not, but I know transmission failures are almost unheard of on the 2.5T XC90. If it's good for the XC90, it must be really good for the XC70.
Here's Matthew's transmission page--It's by no means complete, but I think it's accurate.
