Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
I tried using the home made flash code reader and activated my warning chime, and disabled my key fobs.
I disconnected the negative battery cable to try to get rid of this hideous dinger!
can anybody tell me how to get rid of this dinger and get my car back to before I poked around with the home made flash code tool. All I wanted was my mileage.
fuse 15 is good, at least is looks good in the dark. I will replace it, no matter what it looks like.
I will check the central locking fuse too.
I will check all the fuses associated with the problem areas.
food for thought, when the interior lights are turned off, <not on auto> or on, turned off, the chime goes away and the interior locking mechanism works, I can lock the doors from the inside.
when the lights above the mirror are turned on, or on auto, it constantly chimes and the lock switch is useless.
I will try to reprogram the fob's as I feel I did them injustice by failing at reprogramming them earlier.
I truly love this site and the fellow friends who are eager to lend out their knowledge.

BOOM! PROBLEM SOLVED!
Ask me how....
I replaced the fuses associated with:
courtesy lamps,
central locking system,
diagnostics
ALL WORKS PERFECTLY NOW!!!!
pretty sure it was 15 that was the bad one too. ::::even though it looked fine in the dark::::
Go under the drivers kickpanel where the central locking and antitheft and door chime relays are. The blue one with the built in speaker is the offending relay. Pull it out and voila.
