99 s70 hard start after gas fill up

Post by duckman999 »

My 99 s70 starts hard after I fill the tank up. If I leave it running while filling it's fine. but if I turn the car off and then restart, I have to crank it a few time while pushing the gas peddle to get it running? Fuel filters replaced. Could it be the fuel pump?

I doubt it's the check valve in the fuel pump if it starts fine every other time except when just filled up.

Starts just fine in the morning?

EVAP issue.

I am jumping ahead, but if you decide to replace the Purge Valve, Google "Bosch 0280142300", and you will see that it is about $42 online.

Thanks, I will look into that first. I thought the fuel pump change should be easy. But the pump in not located under the access plate in the trunk! It's about 6 inches off. So I would have to drop the tank to replace it.
