I just bought a used 2001 s40 with 103,000 miles. I assumed I needed to change the timing belt and was ready to DIY. Upon inspection of the old belt, it looked like it was in pretty good shape which made me wonder if it had already been done. I have no repair records for the TB.
The belt in the car now is a Bando brand. Does anyone know what brand comes from the factory?
Thanks for your help and happy New Year!

Bando is aftermarket. The genuine belt is marked VOLVO with OEM number stamped. Now you just have to guess if the idler pulley and tensioner were also done.

If you can clean the area around the water pump you may see new sealant but as far as tensioners and pulleys it's a guessing game.
The brand name of genuine WP is Aisin so if it's anything else you MAY have new pulleys & tensioner.
