Use anything - doesn't really matter. Dexron-III is a spec that they all have to meet the minimum for. I used the cheap Advance fluid.

So its not like oil in our cars were you should use syn if its turbo? Ill just go with whats priced good i guess. But my fluid is deff burnt and black. I have been putting this of for a while. Transmission is still working fine though, with some rough shifts like jerks to reverse stuff like that but while driving shifts good.

I used PEAK DEXIII in my 98 V70, drain and fill, I think 4 times, about 3.5 qts each time. Stuff is fine and relatively cheap. After that, I drain 3.5 qts every other engine oil change, about 10,000 miles. I do run synthetic oil in the engine however.

Yes, Dex-III is backwards-compatible with II, as Dex-VI is backwards compatible with II/III.

I had mentioned PEAK DexIII oil for the tranny. You can buy cases of it through Amazon (access amazon via this site so MVS gets some bucks). Less that $50 a case and free fast delivery. Get two cases and you'll be set for life.

I picked up this trans fluid from Autozone, its Autozone brand. Will this be OK to put in my 94 turbo wagon that recommends dextron/mercon IIE. Please let me no if this will work and if its a bad choice or not?

Well so far so good. I checked the fluid before i even did it and it didn't even register on the dipstick. Its been like 6 months or less sense i checked the level. Anyway i jacked it up and i used a adjustable wrench to get the plug of and drained the fluid into the pan, then poured the fluid in another bottle same size as the one i bought and i took some out the new bottle and put it into another bottle to make the 2 bottles even new and old. so i then poured the new till it was almost gone then checked it added the rest of the new bottle then had to add a little more from the other bottle of clear that i had taken out so i was left with a little from a gallon The plug was pretty dirty but no pieces of metal anywhere unless all that grey stuff in the picture below on the napkin was like liquid metal???, but the fluid was dark and nasty looking. even after i added the new when i checked it on the dip it still looked dirty lol. Wonder if it has ever been done. But i took it for a drive and notice smoother shifting and no more clunk when going into reverse and overall better. gonna do it like 2 or 3 more times how many miles do you think i wait before the next drain and fill?
