What Does Gunk On The Dipstick Mean?

Well I went to AutoZone and they told me that my battery was proficiently just shy of dead!! thank you everybody for all your help I truly appreciate it.

If you buy from FCP, just make sure none of the rubber pipes are not made by URO. They are crap!! The first time I did this, I had to re-pull the intake and replace the short horizontal pipe as it split dumping oil on my drive after only 700km. I bought my kit from IPD, and they had at least 2 other customers with same part failing. They now only use OE parts in their kits. If FCP only use OE, then you should be fine. The write up on the website is exellent and I very much appreciated it and the pictures.

I'd be prone to give the car a good run (after cleaning of the dip-stick) and try running some Seafoam in the oil, then give it a good oil change and filter.

Having owned Volvos of most models since the mid-60's products, they can be prone to condensation on short runs on oil filler cap and dip-stick. This can affect any car used for short runs.

I also got cream colored gunk on the tip of the dipstick when I drove back and from work without the engine getting warm. These engines are not designed to be be driven short stretches it seems. Clogged pcv system was to blame, but I got no pressure symptoms before I replaced it.
