I'd start by checking the fuses.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

I have similar alarm...works A-1 (so far). I would spend the extra $ and get it checked out by dealer. They would most likely find the issue in 1-2 hrs. labour time). this will save you time...-in my opinion. I have never heard this to be a common problem.

I'm not sure what's wrong, but the car does more than blink. I thought how scary is that, a blinking red light, doesnt' take much to terrify a swede. Had a remote started installed and the alarm doesn't activate unless I use the OEM fob or use the key. Well I was Christmas shopping and locked the car with the key because I had other purchases in the car. Well I made the mistake of hitting the unlock on the remote starter fob and opened the trunk and the car lit up like a ufo and the alarm went off.

Not sure what your problem is, but it may be worth getting it checked out. If it is working intermittently, it could start going off, and I think it might disable the ignition?
