'06 XC90 AC - Won't stay cold

Post by Jf63 »

My 2006 XC90 AC unit won't stay cold. I had the refrigerant charged which quickly solved the issue but slowly stopped working over about 60 days. The mechanic believes there is a leak in the system. The dealer where I purchased the car new provided an estimate of $1,200 - $1,600 to repair. Sounds like a lot to me. Advice is welcomed?

bring it to a certified repair shop. They will introduce a special dye into the system and look for the leak with a black light.
an O-ring does not cost 1200 bucks.
