Many thanks for the help - Security Electric 97 850 T5

Enthusiast forums are the very best!

We have a 1997 850 T5 sedan now since summer of 2000. A very reliable car that we love.

The battery died after what, 6 years? 7? No big deal. Dropped the new one in, and the car won't start. Security system was convinced that I was a thief. A random post here on the forum indicated how to clear the system with the key (cycle the system three times from the functioning door lock), and then the car started just like it's supposed to. I LOVE these Swedish trolls that designed this thing.

And I'm appreciative of the enthusiasts that share their knowledge with those of us who would rather spend our time in other activities. Bless you all!
