93 940: Starting problem after driving
Hey guys,
I've been having a strange problem lately with my 93 940 (238,000 miles). After long drives, she doesn't like to start back up right away. The engine cranks, and I can hear the fuel pump engage. Within the past 500 miles i've replaced the plugs, the distributor cap, the air filter and the battery. My last oil change was about 700 miles ago, and at that time i switched to synthetic blend. My timing belt, tensioner, water pump, alternator, head gasket, and crank sensor was replaced last summer. There are no performance issues when driving, and it never seems to happen with short trips. Anyone encounter anything like this?
Thanks in advance!

You were saying "it never seems to happen with short trips"
How short? - Do you mean that she starts fine only when the engine is cold?

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

I'm gonna replace the fuel injection relay and see if that takes care of the problem. I'm thinking maybe when it heats up it begins to fail.

If you have no luck by replacing the Fuel System Relay, check out the Interference Suppression Rly - red mark on the attached page. The injectors' common supply is routed through its NO contact.

I'm gonna check that out. I was reading up and it said when the solder connects heat up it can cause a no-start situation. Thanks for the help. I'll let you know how i make out.
