So recently as in 2 days ago I got home with the wifes new C70.
The catch is though the front seats do not work, and I was told they are from a 1998, so that could be part of the reason they do not move.
For me its not a problem, but she is 5.5 so she needs to be able to adjust the seat.
I have heard there is a micro switch that can be toggled and that there is even a fix for it issued by Volvo.
But since this is both seats, and they are 1998 seats in a 1999 I am wondering if perhaps there is an issue regarding the compatibility.
And if there is, how do I make them work, or where can I get wiring diagrams for the 2 years seats since I noticed they have been pulled down from here.
Thanks guys, any info is good info.

Rob, check your PM Inbox, the seat motor power connectors are the same on the post and pre 99 cars it is only the airbag/ SRS system and seatbelt reminder system that is altered, out of interest do your seatbelt reminder lights work when the drivers side seatbelt isn't clipped in to position - Mike

There is power going into the seats just tested it, and power going to the switches.
So its not a wiring problem.
Does anyone have some photos or an exact location and how to get to it for the micro switch!?
If nothing else ill unbolt the seat and look, but id rather just keep it in the car.

and the seats work so long as it is compressed.
I will get some photos of it, and if anyone knows how I can fix this issue, id love to hear it as I plan on tackling it when I remove the interior from the car, need to fix the squeaky dash.

Usually it is the return spring on the rod that actuates the microswitch that falls off, the spring is about 5MM in diameter and 25MM long, the spring isn't easy to put back on and don't move the seat from folded down to upright with your fingers near the microswitch/ spring as it will trap your finger and it hurts - Mike

In the 99s or 2000s an earlier electric seat controller will work, including back to an 850. Vida will flag it as a problem but the seat will still work fine. As far as tricking the SRS system in believing there is a '99 seat airbag installed look for the two wire green/purple connector near the seat and you'll see that someone has probably looped them through a resistor.
