2003 S60 ABS Control Module repair?

Post by vtswede120 »

Hi everyone, I have joined this forum to see if I can get some straight answers with a few problems I have been having. My girlfriends 2003 S60 has two classic problems right now at 105,XXX miles. 1) DIM which is getting sent out this week. 2) ABS control module is acting up as well due to a similar problem as the DIM. Cheap solder and needs to be repaired. My question is why are most repairs so cheap except for 2003??? Is there really no alternative than $350+ repair when I could get a 2002 module done for $60??? Any help with this would be very appreciated. Thank you. Cheers!!!!

Welcome to MVS,

I am moving your post to the S60 forum where you can get more specific advice than you will in the general forum.

Have you looked into Midwest ABS? It's a guy out of Michigan who repairs or exchanges Volvo ABS modules. His name is Matt, he went above and beyond helping me out. Highly recommended.

Different system with a completely different type of module. It's not the standard old way where you throw a module at it because the abs light is on. You have to get it scanned, rule out the relays at the cem and only have it repaired if you have no comms with the bcm.

I had a diagnostic machine made this past winter which allows me to read the module off of the car and interact with vida. I've been easing into them but haven't had the time to go full speed yet.
