Been a long while since I've looked at a 940, but I seem to recall some of the cars having a temperature sensor in the radiator (for the electric fan) and some not. The ones that did not have it had a plug where the sensor went. Also, in VIDA, in the parts list, there's mention of using a "plug" for "cars without thermal connector".
I suspect the plug in that hole has simply started to leak and needs to be replaced?
You should have coolant in/out, hose to the radiator, and ATF cooler lines. No oil cooler in the 940 radiators, and IIRC only 940 turbos had an oil cooler, and it was a seperate unit with an adapter on the oil filter to feed it.

The plug or sensor is missing.
Look around and see if there is a brass plug with two wires. If not there might be a black plastic stepped plug. If neither of those two searches pans out then you'll have to find some other type of plug. Measure the opening and see if a parts store has a rubber freeze plug that works for that size hole.

I found the copper sensor still attached to the electric fan wires in the corner of the engine bay. the rubber grommet was still intact on the radiator. added some Steel Stick epoxy to hold it in. I doubt if it pops out again.
