I am not a user of this type of media but I had a problem with the rea wiper of my 940SE
Told locally all would need to be replaced by Volvo dealer. Being a pensioner I thought I would see if anyone could help.
Googled the problem and your website gave a possibility posted by "kiss4afrog" on the 26th Oct 2011
If "kiss4afrog" posts on this site a very big thank you as the problem was corroded shaft. My son in-law took it apart done as you suggested and hey presto all OK
