It sounds like the sealer is optional for this, but the factory did not use it when the car was first built. I will get some sealer just in case the metal faces is not clean enough. If after I take it out and it looks like original, nice and clean, I will not apply it. Thanks a lot for the information.

I did not use any seal, but as I mentioned it took me considerable time to make sure the surface was clean before applying the new felt.

Thanks, I will see if I can do the same. A friend told me he used sealer for paper gaskets, which is what I got from FCP. Just in case, I did get some sealer. But if I don't end up needing it, that's even better. I am in the process doing my PCV job now. Hopefully it is not as hard as I think.
