no turbo boost '89 740

Hey All,
Recently had turbo swapped from '87 to '89 740. Starts, idles, runs fine until hard acceleration, when it chokes. Turbo tested fine in shop. Have replaced fuel pressure regulator, swapped air mass meter, checked timing, all the usual suspects. Mechanic has had the car a week (initial diagnosis faulty turbo) and can't diagnose the problem. Wonder if anyone has ever had these symptoms? I saw a similar post from 25 Feb. with no response... Appreciate any ideas. Still have the '87 for parts.

Check the hose between the turbo and the intercooler?

You were right on! Hole the size of a dime in hose below throttle body. Thanks.
