Aftermarket catalytic converter question

Post by d2mmasosr »

I have a 1998 Volvo V70 GLT and want to scrap the old (230k miles) catalytic converter out for a newer one, probably a universal Magnaflow. Where would the rear O2 sensor go? On the stock converter it looks to be threaded directly into the the body of the converter. I have read some prior posts about the fabrication involved, and that wouldn't be an issue, but I'm not sure what to do about that O2 sensor. Tips, tricks, or pointers?

If you aren't too concerned about the emissions of your car, you can pretty much put it anywhere after the cat. If you are, it would be best to stick with OEM - but I'm guessing you're aren't.

For their turbo-back exhaust, IPD uses a cat from Vibrant Power and the sensor is maybe six inches behind it.
