940 non turbo engine removal

Post by klar5020 »

I've been working on an issue with my engine running rough and I've decided to just remove it and clean it up while I'm in there. The engine compartment is filthy from a previous oil leak. I've removed engines in other cars but not this one so I know the basics. I do have a Haynes manual, a nice work area, and all the tools required including a hoist and such. I've got another car so this is now becoming a project. I've been looking around for info on getting this done and just wanted to ask a few questions. Is it easier to remove with the transmission? Anything I should look out for? Is there something I MUST do while I've got the thing apart? I've found some tutorials but nothing on the 940. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

One thing I forgot. Not sure if it matters but it's a 94.
