(Edited July 2018: End of thread has lots of pictures and comprehensive Oring listing.)
"Get your boys back and your heads down...this is going to be a big one."
My heater core finally went from seep to leak so I'm diving into the major dashboard removal on my wagon and replacing both heater core and AC evap.
I don't see a good document on this so I will try to remedy this.
The VIDA documents are nice procedures and are in this thread ,...

I am still trying to source the tool to release the heater hose clips btw.

The 850 write-up on the repair database handled my V70 2000 model just fine in January this year, even though mine is RHD. It even tells you the Snap-On part numbers for the line release tools.
Have you missed the post or perhaps can't find it?

Thanks guys (blush) - I confess I skipped the 850 write up as I thought my V70 was profoundly different (Mrs Gump)
I do have the nice VIDA diagram, and ALLDATA to back me up on this.
Im pretty OCD - am expecting about 12 hours to get this done.

The dash connections may be somewhat different, mostly for the cluster, but under the skin, not much changed between the 850-x70.

Will do, JB. Im taking it this will be useful to add to the repair database, or do you feel the 850 write-up is enough as is?

If you want to document the procedure, we would definitely love to have it.
Let me know if I can help you out in posting up the write-up or anything.

OK - I think Im beating the clock on this one. 2 1/2 hours working time.
There were two Torx screws not on the VIDA document that I caught, in addition the electrical disconnects werent well documented. Ill certainly write this up since that will help others.
Im a decent mechanic, not expert, but not novice either. Hope this will encourage others not to fear dashboard removal. I actually got it out solo, but I recommend a helper for moving it out of the car.

My parts are coming in next week. I'm not doing the heater core because it's not leaking. Am I correct in thinking it's easily replaced without the dash removed? Ie just drop the knee area and it's right behind it?
