2000 Volvo S80 T6 jerky for 10 miles after refueling

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Did you try a fuel additive like Seafoam or STP Fuel Treatment... something to remove water from the fuel system and clean it out?

What did the dealer say? Just shrugged and gave up? Or did he say what the service department tried?

(By the way I edited your post and title. Next time, please don't type in all capital letters.)

Thank you, the service department tech used STP treatment and stated if this doesn't work. Then they do not know what the problem is! This problem show up when temperature is below 50 degree.

I was looking into this online and came across this in a mustang forum (I know its not Volvo but is when Ford controlled Volvo) it may help give a little direction on where to look next.

I have experienced this in my minivan as well when I "top it off" and hit a steep incline soon after leaving the pump so I know it is a broad automotive problem.

One other idea is to not completely fill your car, only fill it to 3/4 full and see if the problem happens in that instance, if it doesn't then I would think that the gas is overfilling and going into places it doesn't belong, like the evap system maybe.

To AVH.....funny thing about this particular car. I had the same issue...when my car was full it jerked and surged upon acceleration. Went through this for months. Changed nearly everything fuel related. ie, filters, solenoids, MAF cleaned several times...on and on. Then one day my car refused to accelerate at all, would only "limp mode" to get off the road. In the end it was the dreaded transmission issue this car is sure to have. Replaced the transmission and so many issues were resolved. I have decided this car is a project car. That way I will never expect to get the money I have in it back.
