Any better?

Has the S80 model seen improvements over the first few years of production or are people still experiencing major problems? I really like the car but I won't buy one until the bugs have been worked out.

Newer ones are suppose to be much better. Avoid all of them until '02 at least. The earliest one was riddled with issues ('99). The '00 & '01 have the ETM (although covered by Volvo under a 10yr/200K warranty now...but who needs the hassle?).

OK, cool. I also noticed that they started putting the good ole 5 cylinder in them at some point. I would think that would be a more reliable model as well.

From what I understand it wasn't the 6 cylinder as much as it was the twin turbo. Yeah, I personally like the 5 cylinder myself too.
