LCD panel backlight not working on Stereo SC 816

I replaced all the bulbs on my 1998 S90 stereo model SC-816 but now for some reason the LCD display works in the day time showing FM stations, or CD player, etc yet the problem is at Night Time there is no
backlight anymore on the LCD panel to see what is playing.
Is there a bulb that needs to be replaced behind the LCD panel, or ???

I wonder if anyone can provide advice on how to fix this problem as i cant see anything at night time
yet it works perfect for day time usage.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

There is one bulb that lights the display, it is soldered in, it is on at full power when the headlights are off and it dims when the lights are turned on. I replaced mine with a radio shack 272-1092 bulb, it seems to work fine.
