ipd question

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

ipd question

Post by socompsp »

when i bought my 98 c70 hpt, it had ipd badges on it already. now i know it has the exhaust, and strut bar in the front. how do i know if it has their reflashed ecu? my mother in law has a v70 t5 and it doesnt seem nearly as quick as my c70, even considering the weight difference. will ipd's ecu look different or have a different model number on it? ive tried google and it let me down so im at a loss. i dont have a boost gauge so i cant tell if the boost is higher or not. any help or insight is appreciated thanks, joe.

Odds are that anybody who did an exhaust and a strut bar also did the chip. Usually, the chip is first because you can't beat the bang for the buck. If you put the mil car in the sport mode and there is a substaintial difference in scoot, I think you have just answered your own question. Sport mode is sometimes deceptive, my wife's 02 V70 T5 has you put the shifter in 4 instead of drive.

Good luck.

You could try calling IPD with your VIN. I'm almost positive they'll have records for that kind of stuff.
