Check that hose with smoke to confirm the leak...

Funny guys. I thought it looked like someone took a blade to it, but it didn't make sense why. I knew who & where I took my car to for work, and it hasn't been worked on for quite a while. So I would think it would drive like it has recently just after they touched it, if one of those guys deliberately did it.

It's not the only thing that is wrong. I've been having what seems to be a pressure issue with the coolant, similar to what's described here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=56584.

So this small hose seems like an easy repair in comparison, but clearly not the only thing that needs to be done. I also have that beautiful puff of blue smoke coming from my exhaust. Yay for me!

Good thing it's not my only mode of transportation. I'm letting it sit while I figure out what to do.

It does look like it has been sliced, but to offer humanity a last chance at redemption its possible you had a backfire and the hose blew the side off - which would explain if the piece is missing too. It would also explain why it broke off at the clamp on the bottom.

Its nice when the problem is 'apparent to the trained observer"

Watch out for those fires today instead of working on your car....

These cars always keep us on our toes. They always seem to need something looked at/worked on. Seems like an easy job to get it back on the road - maybe. I just gotta keep the coolant topped off; and not let it sit idling for too long so as not to get a giant puff of smoke.

No fires by me. Those are 100+ miles north of me. Still not sure why it's so damn exspensive to live here. Threat of earthquakes. Seasonal drought leading to wildfires. Then due to the barren hillsides, when we do get rain you have the threat of mudslides.
