740 GLE Retainer Question

I have a 1986 740GLE Wagon. There is a plastic piece that runs width wise on the aft headliner that encompasses the the aft light. There are several plastic fasteners that are broken and it is hanging down. I have looked everywhere for them with no luck, they are a female type fastener and the studs are mounts to inside of the roof of the car. Any ideas?

Usually clips and fastenings are dealer parts, regardless of the make of car. Looking at Vadis this seems to be the case here.

I have never been inside this particular panel, but wonder if it would be possible to use spire clips to replace the female parts and self tapping screws to replace the studs. As a finishing touch, for neatness, put plastic screw covers over the screws.
