This is my first post on the forum. I've used much of the advice here and it has been great. Now I am stuck at a seemingly simple place and have exhausted the powers of Google.
I am getting ready to lock the rear of my cams and replace my front cam seals that are leaking - my trouble is removing the rear camshaft plugs on my 2006 S40 T5. It seems so minor, but I am afraid of damaging the head using a screw driver to pry around the edges. How do I easily remove them? All the posts I found say to remove them and have no elaboration. Or do they need to be broken to be removed?

I never had an issue installing those plugs.
My only suggestion would be to use a factory part. Obviously make sure it's for the type of engine in your car.
I don't recall using additional sealer on the plugs as suggested above. I think it was just press-fitted in there.
