Vibration in gas pedal

I just bought an 2003 Volvo XC70 with 107k miles. It has a vibration in the gas pedal above 20mph. This vibration is in drive and in neutral also. The tires are brand new. Any idea what is causing the vibration or how to narrow it down?

I have the same vibration occurring with the gas pedal on my 2004 XC70. I had the tires balanced and alignment fixed but the vibration still exists. There is a small little vibration in the steering wheel but nothing out of the ordinary.

The gas pedal vibration happens similar to hellsbellsidaho's situation, above 20mph and whether the car is in neutral or drive. I even tried shutting off the engine while going 60mph on a backroad and the vibration still exists (car was obviously in neutral when I shut the engine off). This is leading me to think that it has something to do with the front end.

hellsbellsidaho - were you able to solve the problem?

I was able to solve the gas pedal vibration issue by replacing the front suspension with a kit ordered from FCP Euro. An indy shop also replaced by right engine mount. No more noticeable gas pedal vibration.

Could be any bushing, seat, or mount that stands between something vibrating and the chassis. In this case, since it's wheel speed sensitive, I'd suspect front suspension or subframe bushings. Best to check them all, though.
