help me a identify 04 XC90 T6 part please

Post by lewinr »

Hi, I have a 2004 XC90 T6.

The turbo stopped working some time ago, and the check engine light is on.
The volvo dealer simply told us that we need to replace the turbos. They did not appear to try very hard to understand the problem. I took the car to a specialist in turbo repairs, he said that the turbos are fine (they tested the pressure generated) but that a valve is stuck and needs to be replaced.

But we cannot find the part number for the valve anywhere.

We have searched all online resources without any luck.
So I turn to you for help.

Please have a look at the pics below, and let me know if you can identify the part number so I can order a replacement.

Thanks
Ron

EVAP purge check valve.
There are two of those. One allows suction in intake to pull vapors out of canister and the one shown allows those vapors to be drawn in post air filter where there is faint vacuum. WHen there is turbo boost the intake will have pressure and no vapor purge would occur if not for the second path to inlet hose from air cleaner. The one shown could not lose boost. The other could but then it would be backflow to charcoal canister and I think it would be a small leak and you'd have other noticeable problems.
What fault codes were found?

Hi, the code is ECM-6805.
We have oil leaking around the turbos but that may not be directly related to this issue.

Do you know the part number for the EVAP purge check valve?

That code is caused in most cases by bad turbo control valve or by hoses from turbo control valve to wastegates or from they pipe on top of your engine.
The ECM detects boost is too high in some conditions and it ceases to operate the TCV and that results in very low boost.

yes, they said the TCV is also bad and needs to be replaced.

But now it is a matter of principle for me to understand the part number for this valve and where I can buy a replacement.... any idea?
