00' Volvo V70 with an LS1...

Post by jpr0204 »

Hey Guys and Girls,

Okay, so I'm all about Volvo. But, there comes a time when you stumble upon something that just looks very nice.

Yeah, we all know about the Ford 5.0 HO and an LT1 in the old 240's and 740's but...

Online, I found this 00' V70 with an LS1 swap into it. Now, obviously you can do just about anything if you have the time and the cash, but this must've been one hell of a swap. An LS1 motor, trans, computer, wiring harness, not to mention converting a V70 to RWD?

Now, I'm not saying it can't be done becuase if I didn't see this, I wouldn't have believed it. :D

How would they fit the trans. in anyway? There's no place to bolt it under the body behind the motor unless there is an extensive amount of cutting and welding I would think?

I'm not really sure if this is legit...

If you look at the cowl and look at the abs pump on the right hand front side of the car this looks like an older 7 series Volvo... I think?

Maybe whoever posted this on Car Domain was just playing a hoax?

I dunno...

The hood is on gas struts which would suggest a 900 series, the rear of the engine bay/ scuttle panel below the windscreen certainly isn't V70, the air con component top left on the picture also looks circa 900 series - Mike

It is a Kalmar 700/900. (88-90 760, 91 940SE, 92-98 960-s/v90)
The other 700/900 have the metal slotted cowl panel with shorter hood.
