fuel pressure 850se
is it possible to check for fuel at the fuel rail valve by taking off the cap and inserting a small screwdriver.should you get a constant spray of fuel or just one burst

Don't know if you should get (or want one while you're checking -- for fear of a fire) a constant stream, but after cranking you should have pressure there.
Did you try cranking then pulling the spark plugs and checking for unburned fuel on them?
