2006 XC90 V8 Ambient Air Temp Sensor Code

Post by Huckster »

Just got a Ambient Air Temp Sensor Code. Any idea where this sensor is and how hard it is to replace. The temp in the mirror is accurate and the car is running great but I can't pass inspection with a check engine light. I have searched many forums with no results for this sensor on an 2006 XC90 V8.

driver's side mirror. It is wired to ECM without network. RH mirror is the one that goes through network for DIM and CCM.

This is the way it is for P2. P1 and P3 use the LH mirror networked to all.

How difficult is it to pull the mirror and access the sensor. Any idea of the part # as I can't find anything by searching.

I meant the temp in the dash display works and seems correct not the mirror. Got cars mixed up.

It is unlikely the sensor. It is much more likely a broken wire on driver's door harness or loose pin at the harness plug on a post. The driver's door sees many more open/close cycles.

Your XC90 is a P2. The RH mirror sensor info is put on network by passenger door module and that is how dash and climate system get their ambient temp info.
