1995 850T, CV Boot & Link Rod & M Mount, Qs?

Post by starbug »

Hi everyone. I'm not too knowledgeable on the mechanical parts of my car, but I want it to be maintained properly and I hope to learn more here. I could use some advice/info on these points.

I took the car to a dealer who said the Left CV Boot was torn. It's going to cost about 500 to fix it. Is this something I need to do immediately? I can't afford this repair for a few months and I am not sure if there is a safety concern. Can anyone explain?

The dealer also said that the Left Link Rod (is that the right term?) is bent and needs fixing for about 150. Can anyone explain what that is?

And lastly, the dealer said that the Right Solid M Mount needs non-urgent repair at about 375. Is that a major repair? Is it dangerous to wait on this?

I only do a little suburban driving most days (under 15 miles), but about once a week, I have been traveling about 200 miles for work. I might be doing this drive more often in coming months, so I want the car to be safe to drive. I'd appreciate any explanations or interpretations anyone could give me on these repair items.

Is it safe to wait a bit on repairing them? Is there anything I should be aware of with these items?

Also, I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right place. Please let me know if I have made a mistake, moderators or anyone.
